Sides

“There was no good Choice!”

“I chose the lesser of two evils…”

“There are bad people on both sides.”

“I don’t agree with all of it, but its closest to what I believe.”

Most of the eyes reading this have heard these phrases or said them, themselves. We can fall into that trap that close enough is good enough. This is not consistent with what we say we believe. 1 Peter 1:16 says, “Be holy, because I am holy.” This is a far cry from choosing the lesser of two evils. The idea that we cannot find a better way limits the omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent God in our own hearts and lives. What arrogance must we have to do this? To dare speak with our actions that God can’t provide the proverbial ‘ram in the bush’.

Perhaps its time we stopped leaning on the Lord’s side and fully fell into Him. No more half way faith. No more part time believers. Christ cannot be a convenient king. If we call ourselves His, our consistency will prove it. There are no perfect people, but that has never been a good excuse. Life can be a series of choices, victories and consequences. It’s not always black and white, but for the things that matter, there is no middle ground.

14 “Now fear the Lord and serve him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. 15 But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

Joshua 25:14-15

There is no wall between us, but there is a line in the sand. You can crossover to join Christ, and we can see where you stand. If you have been victim to the false idea that there is no good choice, become the good choice.

When choosing sides, I pray you choose the one that was pierced.
